Help Mike Fowler Beat Cancer
Donation protected
Support Mike as he beats an aggressive form of Squamous cell carcinoma. We know he can do this! Your contributions to this fund will help support Mike, his wife Teresa, and Stella (their pup) while their expenses nearly double, and their energies are spent on recovery.
Mike’s GoFundMe Campaign
Due to the nature and severity of Mike’s condition, he and Teresa will need to dedicate all their time and effort during the next year to focus on medical attention and healing. Mike fought and beat Squamous cell carcinoma last year; however, within a few months he was diagnosed once again. Due to ongoing expenses, their savings have been diminished. With Teresa supporting as his full-time caregiver, they will lose their secondary income until they are back on their feet. They have been traveling back and forth to Georgia and UVM, spending months at a time in Georgia to get the best care possible at the Cancer Treatment Center of America’s Noonan Center. To maintain their basic lives during this time, giving rising expenses and lost income, we are turning to you for support. Any amount you can contribute will go a long way toward helping - and means so very much.
Mike’s Medical Condition
In November of 2021, Mike started experiencing symptoms that were first attributed to a large right parotid gland. This resulted in vascular encasement of the right common internal and external carotid arteries and effacement of the right jugular vein. The dreaded diagnosis… CANCER. Mike started chemo and radiation which was supposed to bring an end to his condition. However, a few months later, his symptoms returned with a vengeance. In September of 2022, Mike, his family, and friends were shocked to find out a biopsy taken of his throat confirmed the Squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck had returned.
After the diagnosis, Mike, Teresa, and Stella ventured to get advice and care at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Georgia. Within six weeks, their entire lives were completely upended once again. Mike’s current treatment plan includes a series of in-patient & out patient chemotherapy. These treatments and procedures are intense - and also offer hope! It's a hard road ahead.

Mike and Teresa
If you are here you probably know Mike and Teresa! They fell in love in Vermont in 1981 and have been together for 41 years. He, a dedicated machinist, and she, a passionate preschool teacher have devoted their entire adult lives to helping others in need, both on the clock and off. Mike and Teresa are passionate about their community and have worked hard to enjoy their retirement traveling and spending quality time with their grandchildren, family and friends. They cannot wait to restart their lives together once they overcome this challenge and enjoy retirement they worked so hard for.
We are all rooting for Mike! We know he will beat this and we are grateful to be able to show up for him and Teresa to lend a hand where we can. We want to make sure that during this challenging time they are not struggling, and when they get to the other side they aren't under a mountain of debt.
We are so grateful for contributions of any size, sharing of this campaign, or other support you can offer. If you would like to learn more about their situation, please reach out and we will be happy to connect with you.
