Help Mike Gallant Recover from Tragic Hiking Accident

Hi everyone,

My name is Jordyn and I am Mike Gallant's niece. I’m reaching out to ask for your support for my uncle, who suffered a serious, traumatic accident while hiking this past Sunday, 3/23/25. On Sunday afternoon, Mike was hiking at Lithia Springs with Brownie, a friend’s dog he was dog-sitting, when he slipped on the edge of the trail and fell into a ravine. The fall left him with multiple broken bones, and to make matters worse, his phone was thrown out of reach, leaving him stranded and unable to call for help.

Mike endured a long and painful night alone in the ravine, unable to move, until around 9 AM the next morning when a passing hiker heard his cries for help. From 4 PM to 9 AM the next day, he was stranded in the ravine till the next morning. He remains hospitalized and will require surgery, followed by extensive rehabilitation and time off work to recover.

As many of you know, medical expenses can be overwhelming. On top of that, he is now facing the costs of surgery, hospital stays, rehab, and lost wages during his recovery. Mike is one of the kindest and most hardworking people I know, and it breaks my heart to see him going through this. He has always been the kind of person to give the shirt off his own back for others. I have experienced this kindness and generosity myself on numerous occasions and hope that I can return the favor.

I am hoping to ease his financial burden so he can focus on healing without the added stress of mounting medical bills. Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to him and our family. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would also be an incredible help.
