Help Mike Hickman Beat Cancer
Donation protected
As many of you may already know, Mike Hickman recently received devastating news after a CT scan revealed multiple tumors on his liver and rectum. Further testing revealed a large colon tumor, and our worst fears were confirmed - he was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal and liver cancer. More bad news followed. Genetic testing revealed he is a carrier of a cancer causing disorder known as Lynch Syndrome.
While still trying to process everything, he and his wife Carrie had to break the news to their families and 12-year old daughter, Layla. Shortly after his diagnosis, Mike was forced to undergo an emergency colon resection due to a bowel obstruction. Currently recovering from surgery, he has also started multiple rounds of intensive and aggressive chemotherapy. He has a very long road ahead of him, including radiation, treatments, more appointments and surgeries.
We are aware of the incredible battle he must face, but it is one that we will not let him face alone. Those that know Mike know he is a fighter! He intends to beat this diagnosis and knows it will not be easy. Through all of this, he is most worried about not being able to take care of his family. Unable to work, and with only one income to support them, the mounting medical expenses and impending cost of treatments weigh heavily on Mike and Carrie.
It is always humbling to ask for help, but Mike needs your support now more than ever. As you can imagine, the unknowns of dealing with a cancer diagnosis are stressful enough without the added financial pressure from multiple doctor visits, hospital stays, and missed time from work.
If a financial contribution isn’t possible, we urge you to share this campaign on social media to help spread the word. We know Mike would be grateful for your words of encouragement, prayers, and anything that promotes hope and healing. Every contribution - regardless of the amount - is a blessing.
Mike is fighting for his life. Please help us fight with him! Thank you for considering a donation to help Mike beat cancer!
