Help Mikey Corley Beat Cancer

3/31 Update: Mikey is on his way home to continue his therapy and healing. The doctors are very happy with his progress! Keep you all posted on next steps with his treatment plan. Thank you again for all your prayers and support!

3/21 Update: Mikey’s surgery went great. No complications and all margins are clear! He was a rockstar for 11 hours! He’s recovering in the ICU. He’s in a great deal of pain, specifically in his leg where they took bone muscle and skin. He has another surgery tomorrow where he will get a feeding tube. His strength and positivity is admirable! Dear Friends & Family,

Recently, the Corley family received some pretty difficult news regarding Michael’s (Mikey’s) health. He has been diagnosed with squamous cell mouth cancer, stage 4a. Not only does Mikey have to fight this horrific news, the week of February 20th- he had to undergo emergency surgery due to complications of diverticulitis.

Mikey is surrounded by an incredible support system; however; he will be out of work for the foreseeable future. Michael is the owner of Mike Corley painting and wallpapering out of West Springfield, MA. While it’s never easy asking for help, we decided to set up the Go Fund Me to assist with the financial burden.

I know there are many friends and family who simply feel helpless and have extended to help in any way they can. While we can’t endure the pain of this aggressive cancer, we can all help alleviate the day to day expenses. Michael has a long road ahead of him. He will have his first surgery to remove the cancer with reconstructive surgery on March 20th in Boston, after that he will have chemotherapy and radiation. His strength, determination and will to fight are admirable.

The same week of February 20th, Michael’s sister, Andrea was diagnosed with brain cancer in her occipital lobe. Andrea is also having surgery to remove her tumor and will undergo radiation and chemotherapy.
