Help Millan Renovate the Lakeview Jr. High Weight Room

My name is Millan and I just graduated eighth grade from Lakeview Jr. High in Downers Grove and will be attending Downers Grove South (DGS) this fall. I enjoy playing sports like basketball, volleyball, and weight lifting. I am a Life Scout with Troop 55, chartered by the First Congregational Church in Downers Grove. I have been in Scouting since the first grade and have learned so much about leadership, service, and responsibility. As a Scout, we take an oath, and part of that oath is a promise to keep ourselves physically strong. So when I was thinking about an idea for my Eagle project, it was clear that I wanted a project that would both support my passion for personal fitness and give back to the Lakeview community.

My Eagle project will improve and modify the Lakeview weight room to create a safer environment, improve the aesthetics of the weight room, and increase the efficiency and access of weight training equipment to better support fitness goals for Lakeview students. I will plan, develop, and lead others in this project.

My project will involve painting the walls in Lakeview colors, adding wall decals for school spirit, adding new rubber mat flooring, and replacing old equipment with new and safer weight training equipment. On behalf of Lakeview Jr. High, I am fundraising to cover materials, new rubber mat flooring, weight training equipment (squat racks, weight plates, barbells, weight benches, etc.), and supplies. All money raised goes towards my project and any remainder belongs to Lakeview. I am writing today to ask if you would please consider making a donation towards my project. With your help, I am confident that my project will greatly benefit current and future Lakeview students by giving them a safer and better equipped weight room to support fitness goals and improve strength and conditioning for Lakeview athletes and future DGS athletes as well.
