Please Help Millie get her treatment for FIP
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I’m Millie’s mum, Charlotte, and we are now desperately trying to find funds to help treat our babies suspected FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) diagnosis. Millie is only 7 months old and deserves her chance at life. Before recently, FIP was fatal in almost all cases, however, since covid-19 there has been a breakthrough in treatment, however it comes at a cost.
Millie developed ‘ambulatory hemiparesis’ (inability to walk) which started on 20th October on her left side and then 9 days later we had woken up (29th October) and it has happened to her right side now, causing her trouble walking and getting to the toilet. She is now urinating outside of her litter tray and has recently been suffering with diarrhoea - without the treatment I’ve been told her health can deteriorate within the space of weeks and she will no longer be able to fight.
Unfortunately our pet insurance was only enough to cover the first appointment which came to just under £1,300. I think all pet owners should be aware of the actual costs of vet bills, as we have 5 cats in total and nothing like this has ever happened and I was naive to think it wouldn’t happen to my babies. (Cover has been increased for the other 4 as a result of this).
I wish I did not have to ask for help and have never asked for anything in my life - I really don’t want to let her down and it breaks my heart to have to choose between life and death when there is treatment available.
We have gone ahead and had all the diagnostic tests done and until recently they were unsure whether it was FIP as her symptoms were not the exact clinical signs of FIP, however, together with her blood results and scans they are saying it is looking more likely that she has FIP and I need to start treatment asap.
I appreciate anyone who has taken the time to read her story and if you want to know anything else, please just ask!
Please share her story and we appreciate any donations made, no matter how small.
Thank you and let’s all keep our fingers crossed there is some hope for Millie, I love her so much and just want to help her in any way I possibly can xxx
