Help Millie & I Recover, From Dog Attack!!
Donation protected
Yesterday the unimaginable happed. While on our way to the dog park, my precious Millie was attacked by a dog that was off its leash. The story was that the trainer insisted it was okay to take the dog off the lease to do a practice training session while they were down by the river with the dogs owner. As Millie and I were walking by, the dog spotted us and made a B-line for her. I put my hand out to stop the dog from getting close to us but the dog bit me and as I pulled my hand away it lacerated the top of my left thumb. After that he lunged at Millie who engaged in self defense and it escalated into a horrible and terrifying dog fight/attack. I was screaming for help, as people from everywhere came running. My dog was getting mulled and there was nothing I, or anyone could do about it, as it went on for what seemed like forever.
I watched in horror as the Dog ripped the skin from Millies leg, exposing the skin, arteries, tendons, ligaments, and bone beneath. Blood was everywhere and I almost fainted. When the trainer was finally able to break the Dogs grip from her leg, a gentleman offered to pick her up and carry her to my car. Another sweet couple offered to come with me to help comfort both Millie and I on our way to the REACH emergency vet hospital, who by the way are the most amazing team of vet specialists i've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They were so helpful and attentive and assured me that they were going to do their best to take care of Millie even when not knowing if they were going to be paid for their services. They are very caring indeed. I then had to drive myself to the emergency room at Mission Hospital to have my thumb stitched up. I wound up with 10 stitches on my the top of the left pad of my thumb-tip.
It was one of thee most traumatic experiences that i've ever had to endure and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone EVER. Regardless to say, the owner of the Dog is a 20yr old college student who, though saying he would help take care of the medical costs, went to REACH last night and gave a donation of only $200. This is obviously going to cost a hell of a lot more than that and may take several months to recoup the costs through the court system. Until then, Im going to need to raise at least $3000 to $4000 to cover the vet bills alone, not only for her surgery but also for my emergency room visit and stitches as I have no medical insurance either.
Today, I am counting my blessings, as it could have been much worse. That dog could have gone for my dogs throat and killed her. My hand could have gotten bit much worse and I may have not had use of it to do my work as a healer, which as well, is going to have to be put on hold for a while as well. If you can find it in your heart to make a donation, no matter how large or small, I would be ever so grateful an so will Millie. Blessings to all who came to our aid yesterday at the dog park. So many angels stepped in and did their best to help us. I am beyond words of thanks and praise. If you can't make a donation then please just keep us in your hearts and prayers for a speedy recovery and healing process.
P.S. If anyone knows the name of or an attorney/lawyer that can help with this case, please contact me ASAP. Thank you so much for all your support
Blessings, Misha and Millie.
