Help A Trans Couple Stay Afloat After Medical Emergency

Update 3/24:

Hi everyone, nate here. I had my own medical scare yesterday when I was experiencing severe weakness and numbness in one side of my body. I was taken to the ER in an ambulance and had testing done, thankfully I was not having a stroke as was feared and was able to come home, but I will be getting further testing to determine the cause. I will be taking a leave of absence from work during this time, so we are relying on your support for our continued stability.

We have managed to raise 2 months of rent/expenses so far! The remaining 25% will primarily be for a wheelchair. This month has been really rough, and we are so thankful for the support we have received so far.

Hi everyone!

Tldr;
Last week, 3/6, Milo had a medical emergency with incredibly severe pain, and had to have an emergency surgery. We spent 12+ hours in the ER before he was taken seriously and admitted, and then they found that his gallbladder was severely inflamed and he had developed pancreatitis in the amount of time it took to receive any care. 5 days and a successful surgery later, he was cleared to go home, and is now in recovery.

Because both of us are disabled and limited in what we can do for work, we had already been struggling with paying rent. Now that i have had to take off work to be a caregiver for Milo, and he has been unable to work, we are struggling to make ends meet.

Our goal is to raise enough to get us through 2 months, and to fund a wheelchair for myself, which will help me work the hours necessary to keep us afloat, and reduce my pain levels.

What this fundraiser will go towards:
Housing security; rent and bills
Food (For us, and our cats)
A wheelchair for Nate

The medical emergency:
(Milo)
last thurs 3/6 i had to go to the ER for severe abdominal pain.

i waited in the ER for 8 hours and even tho my labs/imaging came back abnormal i was sent home, completely ignoring my pain. not even 4 hours after i get home, intense vomiting started, and this is after not eating ANYTHING for 48hrs so i had to go back to the ER where i waited for another 4 hours, begging for them to see me asap

finally after being seen a second time, at 11am i was admitted to emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder, where i waited for hours in severe pain only to be told my surgery will "probably" be delayed until the next morning. this lead to another 24hrs in the ER, with severe pain and a lot of pain meds that weren't helping.

finally the morning after came, and with promise of a same day discharge was sent off to surgery. the diagnosis was a severely inflamed gallbladder which in the time it took to be seen, turned into pancreatitis. due to my horrible intake, my labs came back abnormal, and so i was admitted to an extended hospital stay.

i was discharged 3/10 and have been at home recovering. i need full time care from my partner, who is also disabled and cannot work during this time. the recovery time is estimated 2 weeks.

if you know me, you know that my disability means i am not able to work a full time job. so i rely on my art to sustain any income. before this happened to me, i needed to take a mental health break because of my disability and have been struggling to pay rent for the last several months. we heavily rely on my partners limited income to stay housed, and with this emergency surgery can no longer afford rent/bills.

we are asking for financial aid during this time to ensure we can keep our housing and have food security. so i can fully recover without being worried about losing our home or stressing over work, and have enough time for my partner to be able to take a break from work when im recovered so he doesn't become injured.

we also hope to crowd fund an additional cost for a well-fitting wheelchair for my partner, which would make his work more accessible when he returns and give him his freedom back on bad days.

i know this is such a scary time but any amount helps! thank you so much for reading and your kindness during this time!
