Help Mimi and Greg Rogers after the Altadena wildfire
Donation protected
Our beloved friends Mimi and Greg Rogers lost everything in the Eaton fire on January 7th. They, thankfully, were able to evacuate safely with their wonderful caregiver, Gina, and their cat, Little Edie, but their house is entirely gone along with everything in it. Their daughter Elana Esquivel and her husband Jacob Esquivel are doing everything they can to ease the transition, but the coming months and years are, no doubt, going to be incredibly difficult for their whole family.
To make matters worse Greg has severe ALS (nonverbal, quadriplegic) and they have lost much of his vital medical equipment in the fire. The day of the evacuation Greg had a medical scare related to not having access to a trachea clearing device and is now in the hospital, but is expected to be discharged in the coming days. I cannot imagine enduring such a loss but to have to navigate this with such a disease is very overwhelming.
They managed to escape with some of Greg’s things but had to leave behind the majority of his medical equipment including larger devices needed to move and care for him. Not to mention having to leave everything else, including all their photos, cherished belongings, Mimi’s art supplies, and Elana’s entire prop kit, which is essential for her work.
As many of you know, insurance may not come through to the level that they need and, more concerning, it will likely take a long time to get the financial resources necessary to purchase essential medical equipment, rent a house, and provide the level of medical care that Greg desperately needs.
Please consider donating anything you can to help Mimi and Greg through this tragedy.
