Help Mindy Orris & her kids through her recovery

Hi Everyone, my name is Kim Gordon & I'm Mindy's sister. We were asked by many of her friends to set up this fundraiser to support Mindy & the kids. Last Wednesday night / early Thursday morning there was a tragic incident where Mindy was run over resulting in 6 fractures below her knee including the ankle on her right foot. She endured a 6+ hour surgery on Thursday (9/23/21) where the Dr's @ University of Iowa Hospital were able to insert a rod, multiple plates & pins to stabilize her leg.

Currently she is at Genesis West in Davenport where she will get occupational & physical therapy to help prepare her to go home at some point. As you can imagine this been extremely stressful for Mindy and the kids. Her "Village" of friends & co-workers in Maquoketa, high school friends from PV & Burlington, grade school friends from Des Moines, former students, and so many people Mindy has come in contact with over the years have reached out and offered to help. We cannot thank everyone enough.

Her recovery is going to be LONG according to Dr's, possibly up to a year. We don't yet know when she will be able to return to work and the medical bills and expenses will continue to grow through this process. You all know Mindy is a giver and will do anything to help someone in need, she struggles mightily being on this side as the person in need! This fundraiser and all others will help to offset costs Mindy incurs while she recovers. All donations will go directly to Mindy to support/care for her, Olivia, Emery, & Hudson. She appreciates anything you can do and I know looks forward to being back up on her feet and giving you all a hug in person! In the mean time your concern and prayers will continue to lift her up!!
