Help Mindy Robinson with Medical

My name is Dawn LaFave and I’m helping raise money for Mindy Robinson’s Medical, travel, and Hotel rooms. Mindy was diagnosed with Angiomyxoma in January of this year. This is a very rare aggressive cancer in her peri area. The Dr did surgery and got all the cancer out, however, she has to have scans every 3 months. Her oncologist is from Sioux Falls SD who flies into Fargo ND where Mindy will have to go to sees her. On the most current scan they did find another lemon size mass in her rectum. She now has several appointments in Fargo to get testing done along with removal of the mass. We’re unsure if any further treatments are needed after removal at this time.

On September 14th she went to the dentist with a tooth ache and they did X-rays and found a mass in the back of her mouth. The oral surgeon out of Alexandria/ Saint Cloud was able to remove the tumor along with the tooth. The tumor was then sent to pathology and is in fact cancerous. On October 24 the it came back from the Mayo Clinic pathology she found out it is another rare aggressive cancer, Clear Cell Odontogenic Carcinoma is the name of it. They are calling it bone cancer at this time. She was refer to North Memorial oral surgeon and oncologist that works with rare cancerous tumors of the facial area. They are also specializing in reconstruction of the face after the tumor is all taken out. They order a PET scan along with CT scans and more imaging. The PET scan shows this mass has moved into her neck. She will be going to see there surgeons next week, on Tuesday she has to travel to Fargo, and then turn around and travel to the Cities on Wednesday to see the other surgeon for her mouth.

Mindy has been trying to work but I’m sure you can imagine that she is having lots of pain so she did take her short term disability leave as of 11/9/23. Shawn has been a trooper and brought her to all appointments so far and will continue to do so and because of that he also has missed lots of work already as well.
