Help Miranda Fight Brain Cancer

Donation protected
Some of these words are from Miranda’s mother…

Miranda was 29 when she was diagnosed with brain cancer. It was not recommended for her to have surgery at that time, so her physicians opted to put her through the strongest radiation treatments possible, then she started chemotherapy after radiation. When she came back for her post-treatment check-ups, things were vastly improved.

She had some changes in her tumors a few years later and continued chemotherapy with additional medications. When she came for post-treatment exams, conditions were better, again.

In 2019, the tumors were active and grew. Miranda and her father, Ed, flew to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas where the specialists recommended surgery. It was scheduled for November 13, 2019 with radiation or chemotherapy later. Thanks to several who donated, she was able to afford that trip, but she has accumulated some hefty bills since then.

Miranda and her family are really hurting mentally & financially. Miranda recently posted about her scan and how she just wanted it to show she had more time, but when the results came, her scan didn’t show what she & her doctor were hoping for. Miranda is about to head to IU in search for another possible option, but in the meantime, she is very worried about the financial well-being of her family. Her husband’s insurance may not cover her hospice care, and she’s constantly worrying about money for even after she is gone. In addition to the financial burden of her medical costs, there’s the stress she has knowing they’ve been unable to save for their daughter’s college. Jaycee is a sophomore in high school.

Miranda is an amazing, kind-hearted woman who has really been through the ringer this last decade, but she has been a true warrior. She doesn’t need to worry about these things while she’s just trying to survive. No one should have this burden. Miranda has felt overwhelmed by her brain cancer many times as it takes a heavy toll on almost every function and aspect of her life. Let’s help her with this burden.

Since she was a child, Miranda has always been very kind and giving. Even at an early age she participated with her grandma (breast cancer survivor,) mom (CIN III survivor,) and dad (lung, skin, and bone cancer survivor,) volunteering, donating, and raising awareness for many not-for-profit organizations in Southwestern Indiana. Proudly, she has taught her own daughter, Jaycee, the tradition of giving back. Her present job, and the last two, were in the cancer treatment industry. She worked at Evansville Cancer Center, U.S. Oncology and Vantage Oncology. That gave her a lot of additional experience with everything cancer, but was truly a sad job for her to do. Seeing the patients who lost their battles, while fighting a battle of her own, was almost too much to bear. She had some great friends and co-workers there who helped keep her spirits up.

She's in a very tight-knit four-generation group of strong women, each with only one child: her grandma, her mother, Miranda, and her daughter. This makes her even dearer to us and we’re her biggest cheerleaders. She also has a great husband and father that love her dearly and do everything they can to help out.

Would you please share this & donate to help Miranda on her journey to healing and for Jaycee to start saving for college? No amount is too small. Thank you & God bless ❤️
