Help Miranda Rebuild ❤️

Hello,

I’m Andrea, Miranda’s older sister. On Saturday night I received a gut wrenching phone call informing me that Miranda was struck by a moving vehicle while crossing the road to her apartment building.

Almost a week later, Miranda is still in the ICU from the accident. She has incurred multiple bone fractures and breaks including her skull, arm, legs, ankle, lower spine, pelvis, and ribs. Other injuries include a collapsed diaphragm, brain bleed, internal bleeding from the liver and spleen, and severe bruising. She has been through 3 surgeries since Saturday with at least 1-2 more in her future.

We are so thankful for the medical team here at Orlando Regional Medical Center for working their hardest to get Miranda back together again. It’s truly a miracle that she’s still with us today. ❤️

Our family knows Miranda’s path to recovery will be long and painful. We will be by her side through every step but we know it’s not just a physical one.

As Miranda’s hospital charges stack and it becomes more evident that she will not be able to return to work quickly, the last thing I want her to worry about is how she’s going to afford it. On top of that she will most likely have to end her lease early as she will need 24/7 care during her rehabilitation. Her recovery will be many months, possibly years.

For everyone who knows Miranda well, they can say she is a fighter and I know she’ll come out of this stronger than ever. She has been handed a short deck in life and it doesn’t seem fair. She deserves so much better. She’s always been one to care for others and always put everyone before herself. But now she needs her friends and family to help her as takes on one of the biggest challenges of her life.
