Support TraditionMeetsTech: Bringing AI to Bostons Chinatown

Hi! We’re Jacky Li and William Liang, seniors at Boston Latin School, passionate about AI and our community. We’ve created a project called “Tradition Meets Tech” to help traditional Chinatown restaurants embrace digital solutions.

The Problem:

Many Chinatown restaurants rely on outdated ordering methods, like phone-only systems. This makes it hard for customers to order and limits the restaurants’ ability to grow in today’s digital world. These businesses often face language barriers and are unfamiliar with digital tools, making it tough to modernize.

Our Solution:

We’re building AI-powered chatbots to help these restaurants:

• Take orders online, even during peak times.

• Translate customer orders from English to Chinese in real-time.

• Eliminate the language gap, making it easier for non-English-speaking owners to manage orders.

Why It Matters:

Chinatown has been a second home to us. We spent our childhood there, and we want to give back by helping these restaurants thrive in a digital age while maintaining their rich traditions.
