Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
I am writing to you today to let you know about the unexpected passing of Kathleen Newman on June 8, 2024. Kathy was only 61 years old. She leaves behind her partner, Moe, and their daughter, KadyRose. The lives of Moe and KadyRose were shattered and their world came to a screeching halt when Kathy was called to heaven. Kathy’s sudden passing meant there were no preparations made ahead of time.Their lives are now changed forever, and they need your support. Kathy was an amazing person who always put others before herself, she was truly selfless, and I’m asking everyone to channel her selflessness now. Her obituary can be found here: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/gazettenet/name/kathleen-newman-obituary?id=55327825
Kathy dedicated her life to helping others. She was a fierce advocate for all who could not advocate for themselves and fought injustice everywhere, no matter the cost to herself. She was an incredibly compassionate nurse practitioner and professor and helped countless folks while working as an oncology and hospice nurse and always shared her enthusiasm for nursing with her students. Not only did she love nursing, she loved life and all it had to offer. She loved history, nature, hiking, reading, cooking, gardening, antiquing, laughing and dragonflies. She loved spending time with family and friends and caring for her beloved dogs and cat, Indie, Pete and Bean. To have known her is to have loved her.
For those of you who know them, you know for the last 46 years there was never a Moe without Kathy or a Kathy without Moe. They were not just two separate people, but one shining pair who shared a zeal for life and who made everyone around them feel loved. Kathy and Moe always shared their zest for life and good cheer with all they met....whether it was family, friends, colleagues, neighbors or strangers. Together they made an ever-lasting impression on everyone they met. They have always helped everyone, friend or foe - whether it was encouragement, guidance, providing transportation, providing food and clothes for those who didn’t have any or buying sports equipment for a child that couldn’t afford to buy their own...no matter what the situation...they were always there to provide support to whoever needed it. Together Kathy and Moe were a formidable force…always there for everyone that came into their lives.
The void Kathy’s passing has left in Moe and KadyRose’s hearts and lives is immeasurable. In lieu of gifts, please consider a monetary donation. Grieving the untimely and unexpected death of your lifelong partner and soulmate is difficult enough without the added financial stress. Moe works extremely hard painting homes but the market is often unpredictable and unforgiving…steady income is never guaranteed. Let us come together, doing exactly what Kathy would do for others, and help her family and pets during this painful time, allowing them to grieve this devastating loss without worrying about everyday expenses.
Please consider donating if you are able to do so. We are so very grateful for every donation
during this difficult time.
With love,
