Help Mohammed and His Family Survive the War on Gaza
Donation protected
My name is Curtis Waltman, and I have known Mohammed since early Spring 2024. He has worked with incredible perseverance to rescue his family from Gaza. He is still working constantly towards this goal. The money raised will go towards evacuating his family, and ensuring their survival, as prices have gone through the roof, conditions remain atrocious, and bombs continue to fall on Gaza. Mohammed has written a piece to introduce himself, which is included below. Please, I beg you to consider helping my friend Mohammed.
“My name is Mohammed Shamia, a 23-year-old from Gaza. Life as I knew it changed forever when the war began.

I was evacuated before the crossing was closed, and now my family is still stuck in Gaza. I am trying to raise funds for them as they are facing unbearable conditions. My family remains trapped in Gaza and urgently needs support for basic necessities such as shelter, food, and medicine.
We once had a home—a warm, peaceful place filled with love and carefully chosen, beloved details. But in a single moment, everything was taken from us. We fled from Sheikh Radwan to Khan Younis at the onset of the war, and a few days later, to Rafah. Months later, we received the heartbreaking news: our home had been destroyed by an airstrike. What was once our safe haven is now gone, leaving us homeless.
Today, my family lives in a tent. It offers no protection from the biting cold of winter or the scorching summer heat. Rain seeps in, and the conditions are unbearable. We desperately need your help to purchase a better tent and continue our lives with dignity.

My mother suffers from high blood pressure, and my father has an irregular heartbeat. Both need medications that are often unavailable or priced beyond our reach. The cost of everything has skyrocketed—prices have multiplied twentyfold, making even basic necessities unattainable.
A portion of the funds raised in my previous campaign has been withheld due to government taxes, which will last until mid-next year. However, I no longer have the funds required for evacuation. With the news of the crossing opening soon, it is now crucial for me to raise additional donations to cover the urgent needs of my family and ensure their safe relocation.
These funds have also kept myself afloat as I live in Egypt, working every day to help my family survive and relocate to be with me in Egypt once the crossing opens. Both my family and I rely on your generosity during this awful time waiting for the opening of the crossing, trying every day to just survive.
We are struggling to hold on to the hope of life. If you have compassion in your heart, if you believe in the value of humanity, please consider donating to us. Your kindness could be the difference between despair and survival.
You are our last hope.”
