A Father’s Journey from Tragedy to Hope

Hello and thank you for your interest in supporting my friend Mohammed.
My name is Deanna Busle and I am the campaign organiser.

Who Will Receive the Funds

All funds raised through this campaign will be managed to ensure they reach Mohammed and his family directly. The goal is to support him in reclaiming his independence and helping his family through this difficult time.

Every dollar you give will help Mohammed get the treatment, equipment, and support he needs to rebuild his life. All collections will be transfered directly to Mohammed’s bank account in Palestine. I do not perceive any fees or provide any fundraising services.

Thank you for your compassion, for your kindness, and for believing in Mohammed’s future.

A few words from my friend… to you, dear reader:

Imagine waking up each morning, ready to work, to provide, to laugh with your children. Now imagine all of that ripped away in a single, heart-stopping moment. My name is Mohammed, and I am a 34-year-old father of five from Al-Zeitoun, Gaza. Before the war, I was a driver. I worked hard to support my family, to make sure my children felt safe, loved, and hopeful for the future. But when war came to Gaza, my life, my body, and my future were shattered.

One day, a bomb hit our home. I’ll never forget the deafening noise, the explosion that ripped through everything I had built. My left foot and the fingers on my left hand were gone. As I lay in shock, unable to move, I could only think of my family and how I’d protect them now. When I finally woke up, I had to face a new, unimaginable reality: I could no longer walk, I could no longer work, and my hands were too damaged to hold even the crutches that had become my lifeline.

After losing our home, my family and I were displaced to a tent in Deir al-Balah. I thought I had faced hardship before, but nothing prepared me for the daily reality of life in that tent. We struggle to find food and water, basic things I once took for granted. Going to the bathroom is nearly impossible. My wounds, untreated and painful, often feel like they’re burning. I want so desperately to sleep, but the pain keeps me awake. And even after pleading for help from every organization I could reach, I still don’t have a wheelchair. I’m trapped, unable to even care for myself, let alone be the father and husband my family needs.

The Struggle to Be a Father

The hardest part is seeing my children look at me, afraid. They miss the father they remember—the man who played with them, who stood tall, who could hold their hands. Now, they look at me as though I’m a shadow, a ghost of the man I was. I see their sadness and confusion, and it breaks my heart in ways I can’t describe. They deserve a father who can be there for them, not someone who is trapped in pain and helplessness. They deserve better, and so does my wife, who now shoulders the weight of our family alone.

My Dream

With the right medical care and prosthetics, I can walk again. I can stand tall for my children and work to provide for them. I can look forward to a life without constant pain and reclaim my independence, my dignity, and the fatherhood that was stolen from me. I want to laugh with my children without seeing fear in their eyes, to be a source of strength and love in their lives.

How You Can Help

This is why I’m asking for your help. Every donation, every share of my story, brings me closer to the medical care I so desperately need. Your kindness can bring me closer to a future where I can walk again, where I can work, where I can give my family the life they deserve. With your support, I could receive the treatment I need abroad, gain prosthetics that will allow me to move independently, and relieve the intense, daily pain that has become my reality.

Your generosity can restore a father to his children, a husband to his wife, a man to his own life. Every donation brings hope, strength, and a chance for me to stand tall once more.

Please, help me walk again. Help me show my children that even in the darkest times, compassion and kindness can heal. Together, we can turn this tragedy into a story of resilience, strength, and, most importantly, hope.

Thank you for reading my story, for caring, and for being part of my journey toward reclaiming my life.
