Help Mohammed‘s Family with emergency evacuation from Rafah

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Lars from Germany and I ask you to support the family of my friend Mohammed Ahmed to evacuate from Rafah and to safely reach Egypt and from there start a new life. The family is currently living in a tent in Rafah under precarious and inhumane conditions after their flat was razed to the ground by Israeli attacks. They had to change their emergency accommodation several times.
For sure there are hundreds of families in the same situation right now but I will try to help at least one. I know Mohammed since we studied together "Water Management" 1994/95 in Cologne and visited him and his lovely family thereafter ( the photo shows his wife Amina, the older son Rabea and the younger son Qusay, the third son, Amjad is currently in Egypt for studying)
Please help! Every donation, however small is a great deed and could make a big difference! Thank You!

Here I share the details on their current situation that Mohammed sent me:
"My name is Mohamed Ahmed. My family consists of four members. We lived as a family enjoying peace and tranquility. Since the start of the war on Gaza on October 7th, our lives have changed for the worse.

We were exposed to the worst days full of terror and fear due to the impact of the aircraft bombing and the falling of shells on the houses near us, as our home was affected by that. During those tragic days, we were forced to flee from our home more than once to two areas south of Nusirat that we thought were safer than our home. But we lived very harsh days in simple tents, escaping from the death and hoping for life. Here, every night, we listen to the sounds of explosions and see smoke plumes and fire flame rising around us and everywhere hoping not to be the next victims. We could not sleep safely as the sound of warplanes and drones deafened our ears.

In addition to that my family faces great challenges, including lack of clean drinking water، healthy food and medicine. We have been exposed to poor sanitation and suffered from several diseases due to air pollution and toxic materials filling air and water affecting our health as my wife is asthmatic patient suffering to have normal breath. In addition to that my wife and I have been suffering from not taking our medicine since I am diagnosed as diabetic patient and my wife is asthmatic patient

Moreover our lives in the past few months have been full of fear and terror. We felt like dying every day because of the death of our neighbors and friends. Not to mention the destruction of our homes, loss of hope and any happy memories we ever had.
I never thought that my children's beautiful future would become a nightmare reality, as they would not be able to complete their studies, whether in schools or universities that were completely destroyed. So we are a family now trying to survive the most terrible circumstances.
The trauma and shock of this event has forced me and my family to conclude that we are not safe in Gaza- every day is a struggle for survival, and the nights bring bombs to every place we have sought shelter.

This is my oldest son Rabea a passionate doctor with huge dreams . He plans to travel to Germany to complete his specialization in visceral surgery. He has been preparing and studying German language since last year of medical school. Therefore he finished A2 level but the war stood in the way of his ambitions. However he works as a volunteer in Al.Aqsa hospital in surgery department. Rabea had graduated from Benha University, Egypt in 2022 and preferred to work as an intern in Gaza hospitals to help our people here.

Once the War started on 7th. October he didn't hesitate to volunteer in the emergency department joining the medical crew to help crowded injuries attacked by the brutal bombardment. As a result of lack of medical equipments he was forced to work hard passing along so many challenges. " I work there under fear of recognizing anyone of my family among the injuries reaching the hospital every time I hear about targeting our area " according to him.

Moreover he never stopped going to the hospital even though there were no vehicles but only ambulances and traffic interruption conditions due to lack of fuel and danger surrounding taxi drivers until he finished his internship year.

After that he has been volunteering in surgery department to continue treatment of injuries and dealing with complicated surgical conditions.
He believes that his specialization in visceral surgery will save our people’s lives especially in Gaza Strip which suffers from shortage of medical specialized staff .

The last photo shows my youngest son Qusay, a distinguished school student in the eleventh grade. He is an outstanding student and very ambitious in his studies. His dream was to finish his study, but the war shattered his dream. His school was destroyed and bombed by the Israeli air force as part of the collapse of the educational system in Gaza.
Qusay’s suffering has been increasing day by day due to his interruption from his study at school and he became frustrated when he found that his colleagues had traveled and enrolled in their studies outside the Gaza Strip.
Therefore, there is the only option that he travels to Egypt to complete his study joining his colleagues there.
Asking us for your help is not easy at all, but we have no choice except asking for your help in escaping this horror. Your support could mean the difference between life and death for my family
We are extremely grateful for any assistance you can provide to my family, and we thank you for your kindness and generosity in our time of need.
This campaign will cost about €40,000 to arrange the paperwork to get me and my family (4 people) out of Gaza using the Egyptian travel agency Hala.
The breakdown of costs is as follows:
€5,000 Crossing to Egypt per adult (x4)
€12,000 for a closed account in Germany as a main condition to get an entry visa to Germany for my son Rabea ( covering living expenses for one year )
€ 3,000 tuition and fees for my youngest son at school and € 5,000 living expenses in Egypt"

Update 02.09.2024
Dear all the situation in Gaza is getting harder every day, here is an update from Mohammed´s family:

Our situation in the street searching least amount of food for our family

We were forced by the Israeli army to move from our tents to west of Deir al Balad

My son Dr. Rabee is sharing his colleagues to save lives of injured children in Al aqsa hospital...

...Hello my friends, this update is the most important. We here in Gaza have become homeless again and we have lost the tents we were displaced to recently. They took us out of the tents and sent us to areas full of displaced people. We are sleeping in the street now because of the large displacement that is happening every day. We have become like lab rats listening to strong attacks of warplanes and bombardment. Every day we are evacuated because of the war. Every day we live in a new place. We beg you. We have no hope left but you to stay alive. We are in bad need to get healthy food, safe drink and medicine to save life of my family who are suffering from a severe shortage of the basics of life. You support and donate us so that we stay alive and survive. Your support for my children will contribute to give my family the hope to evacuate from Gaza and rebuild our new and safe life Please do not stop supporting us. You are the only hope. Share the link to the donation page. We need your humanity. Thank you on my behalf and on behalf of my family"
