Help Mohammed's Injured Family Survive & Escape Gaza War

Donation protected

My name is Nina Christine Gorman (D.O.B. 11-18-57). I am a psychotherapist and psychology adjunct instructor in Philadelphia PA, USA. I came to know Mohammed Fayez Saeed Qaisi of Deir Al-Balah in Gaza Palestine (D.O.B. 1-23-89) at the beginning of the current war in Gaza in November of 2023 when he volunteered on facebook messenger to me to assist in helping me get funds to poor families during the war. (These are two of his children, Salma and Fayez in the picture in terror from nightly bombing) . We have become very close friends for this past year in numerous conversations on facebook and partners in assisting the needy and injured in this terrible war. I was most impressed by his hard work in assisting his brother, Mahmoud and his brother’s wife Hanin to endure the deaths of their four children from bombing and their traumatic injuries of severe burns and amputations as well as other injured and poor with whom he did not hesitate to visit and comfort.

I am doing this campaign to assist his family to survive in this brutal war and evacuate to Egypt including Mohammed himself as well as his wife Miram Ahmed Mohammed Risha (D.O.B. 7-5-1992), his mother, Halima Abdul Aziz Khalil Al Qaisi (D.O.B. 9-11-61) his brother Mahmoud Fayez Saeed Al Qaisi (D.O.B. 2-14-91), his brother’s wife Hanin Abdul Rahman Fadi Al Qaisi (1-12-95) , as well as Mohammed and Miram’s children, Hala (14 years old), Salma (12 years old), Fayez (9 years old) and Amr (5 years old).

In August Mohammed was burnt severely on most of his leg by a bombing near him giving him much pain and suffering and hampering his ability to do daily tasks. His brother Mahmoud and his wife Hanin lost all four of their children in a bombing giving them unbearable sorrow. Mahmoud sustained severe burns on 70% of his body in the bombing a few months ago and brother’s wife Hanin endured burns and fractures from bombing leading to amputation of both of her legs.

Due to the blockade of food, fuel and medications by the occupation since the beginning of the war and bombing of all infrastructure of 85% of homes, all schools and universities, most of water and sewage infrastructure, the suffering of the family like so many in Gaza is abominable. Mahmoud, Hanin and Mohammed have had to endure treatments with minimal anesthesia and medications post several operations, with pain and antibiotic medications, gauze and ointments scarce and expensive. Mahmoud and Hanin hope to come up on the list for evacuation for medical treatment to Egypt and the couple as well as Mohammed, Miram, Halima and the children hope to evacuate to Egypt to be able to survive the war and start a new life elsewhere in a country in Europe.

Here is Mohammed in his own words:
I am Mohammed Fayez Saeed Qaisi (D.O.B. 1-23-89) from Deir Al- Balah Gaza where we have been enduring the most horrific war we have ever experienced during our occupation of decades. Before the war things were hard. I had aspired to finish my education at university but my university was bombarded like all universities in Gaza. Before the war there was a blockade so that we only had electricity for half of the day, the water was partly contaminated and the hospitals in short supply of medications and equipment and we had low diet but we could at least survive. Then and also during this war I have always tried to help others and share what I have.
Now it is close to impossible to endure. My wife and I never thought we would have to be afraid of not being able to feed our children or do without medications when they get rashes from the lack of sewage or fevers from infections from parasites or that we would be living in a tent for almost a year. I never thought I would get severely burned by an explosion of a car that was bombed within feet of me and almost lose my life.

I never thought my four nieces and nephews would be killed in this war and many other friends and relatives and that no words I say can soothe the pain of my brother Mahmoud and sister in law Hanin in their great sorrow for loss of all of their children. I consider myself a proud strong man but it is hard not to cry when your brother is all burned and his wife not only had to have one leg cut off but both and with minimal anesthesia and pain medications after coming near death from infection after infection and limited pain medications and food due to the cruel blockade. I would like to get her a little fruit once in a while and maybe a chicken to give her a little comfort or maybe some for my own family but they are both so expensive like everything else. Even a bar of soap is now 25 dollars and my children get sick from parasites and infections.
Each day like so many in Gaza we do not feel we can go on another day. We are exhausted. I try to do what I can to comfort the poor and other injured but with limited funds it is hard to even support and comfort my own family now. I urge you do to what you can to alleviate the suffering of my family, to enable us to survive with food, drinking water and medical treatments for the rest of the war until the crossing opens and we can evacuate to Egypt and to start a new life. No donation is too little since every dollar counts. Are we as Palestinians different from anyone else.? Don’t we like everyone have the right to be free of hunger, injuries, deformed bodies, death and to have a normal life? The lives of my family and all of Gaza will never be the same again . Our physical and emotional wounds will never fully heal but we want a fighting chance to survive and have a better life. Please give what you can today to give us some hope.
