Help MojoHost’s Rommel Suganob fight cancer!

Donation protected
I’m reaching out to my entire community of friends, colleagues and clients asking for help for my good friend and MojoHost colleague living in the Philippines, Rommel Suganob, who is currently fighting a battle with stage 3 rectal cancer.

I believe this is a battle we can win together. Rommel is such a good, worthy person. His kind spirit, family values and relentless work ethic has made him such a gift to everyone he knows. Rommel is my longest employed colleague at MojoHost still with us, having started his journey of Good Mojo in October of 2008. We will do everything we can to see this through together, his family and mine greatly appreciate any assistance you can lend to this effort. We have researched and vetted everything fully to ascertain that he receives the best medical care possible.
Rommel has been married to his beautiful wife for 13 years. They don’t have any children of their own, but they spend a lot of time with his two nephews and niece. During the first part of their marriage, Rommel and his wife were primarily focused on helping their siblings financially after the death of his wife’s mom in 2011 and Rommel’s mom in 2013. Rommel and his wife were left financially strapped after this episode but were finally able to start establishing themselves again in 2016.
Then came the horrible news. On Feb 24, 2022, Rommel’s doctors found a growth on his rectum, and through a series of tests, confirmed that the tumor is malignant and diagnosed Rommel with stage 3 rectal cancer.
A treatment plan was laid out and separated into three phases:
• 1st phase, which is what Rommel has just finished, is called “Neoadjuvant Therapy”, where oral chemo meds are taken in conjunction with radiotherapy with the objective of shrinking the tumor in preparation for the second phase.
• 2nd phase will involve surgically removing the tumor. At this phase, the tumor is removed, and human waste will be directed through a colostomy bag temporarily, with the possibility of this being permanent if Rommel’s surgeon is unable to connect them back due to the location of his tumor.
• 3rd phase will involve regular chemotherapy, running for 6 months with 2 cycles each month. The chemotherapy drug will be administered via an IV that will run for 22 hours each cycle and will require hospitalization for 3 days / 2 nights.
The national healthcare program in the Philippines, called PhilHealth, offers limited coverage for members. For Rommel, only 15% of his cancer treatment is covered making him financially responsible for the majority of the cost of his treatment.

Rommel and his wife were able to cover the cost of the diagnosis and the first phase of treatment with their limited savings, but now that their savings have dried up from Phase 1 of treatment, they no longer have the ability to cover the remaining course of treatment.
Rommel’s doctors have provided an estimated out-of-pocket total cost for his remaining course of treatment to be $41,000 USD.
We are looking to raise $40,000 to help Rommel receive the cancer treatment he so badly needs.
Please find it in your heart to donate whatever amount you feel comfortable giving so that Rommel can continue his battle against rectal cancer.
