Help My Mom in Her Fight Against Kidney Failure
My mom is facing the hardest battle of her life—her kidneys are failing, functioning at only 20% or less. Seeing her go through this has been devastating for our family. She has always been the cornerstone of our lives—a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, and extended parent who has spent her life giving to others. She has never turned anyone away, always offering a warm meal, a safe space, or simply a kind word to someone in need. Her unwavering generosity and compassion have touched countless lives.
She’s married to my dad, a retired veteran who proudly served our country through years of deployments. While he was away, my mom worked tirelessly to raise their children, support him from afar, and keep the family strong. Now, my dad is doing everything he can to help her, working as much as he can while being forced to miss hours and take days off to drive her to critical medical appointments, train for at-home dialysis, and prepare her for the hopeful possibility of a kidney transplant. Their journey requires frequent out-of-state travel for appointments in Alabama and Louisiana, often staying overnight in hotels to make early appointments, missing work, and traveling long distances. These sacrifices add financial strain during an already overwhelming time.
As we try to prepare for the challenges ahead, we are faced with the reality that this process comes with uncertainties and difficulties. We want to ensure my parents can face this journey without the added burden of financial worries. Your support will help cover travel costs, lost income, and everyday bills, giving them the chance to focus on what truly matters—her health and recovery.
If she gets the call for a kidney transplant, she will have up to FOUR hours to respond. We want to make sure my parents can get to that important procedure without any interruptions. We are praying for a smooth procedure and recovery.
Next month both of my parents will be taking time off and missing work while Mom is getting a port implanted to prepare her for home dialysis and training. Dad is going to be helping her every step of the way.
My mom has always been a beacon of kindness and strength for everyone around her. Now, she needs our help. If you’ve ever known her, you understand just how deeply she cares for others. Even the smallest contribution will mean the world to her, my dad, and our family. Thank you for your generosity, kindness, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Please, at the very least, just a simple share could make the world of difference.
