Help Momo and Lele

Less than two weeks before my sweet girl’s 1st birthday, we had a big health scare. What I thought was a doggie cold ended up being mycoplasma pneumonia, resulting in a 2 day, $5,892.93 emergency vet visit. I am so glad to say that Momo is back at home, spunky and sassy as ever, and is on her way to a full recovery.

I am so so grateful for all of the calls, texts, spells and love from our community as well as our pet insurance which will cover $4,140.60 (70%) of the costs. This leaves us with a final bill of $1,752.33 + a $350.95 follow up visit for chest X-rays (not reimbursable). However, with Momo’s history of illness, I am still paying off previous vet visits.

As many folks know, our girl Momiana has experienced some health struggles in her first year of life. I adopted her at 3 months from Love of All Dogs, a rescue that often brings street dogs from Puerto Rico to New York for a new life. From kennel cough, to ring worm, whip worms, and her ever present snot nose, her first year has been a big one!!

I want so badly to give her the best life, and maybe even a chance to start over for this next year. And that brings me here - to humbly asking if you have any extra to give, that you might donate to help aid with these bills.

In addition to our outstanding bill of $2102.03, I’ve decided to round up the ask to $2,500.00 in hopes that I will not only be able to pay our emergency vet visit bill, but will be able to enroll my sweetie in some long-awaited training sessions, which I hope will help resocialize her after a traumatic ICU visit and 4+ weeks without dog friends. These sessions have been postponed due to illness and financial struggles - but my hope is that with support, I will be able to set her up for success as we continue to navigate her life as one of the most bullied breeds.
