Help Monique With Eye Surgery and Recovery

Hi, my name is Genetta and I'm creating this fundraiser on behalf of my sister-friend Monique Judge, whom many of you know as a journalist. Recently, Monique lost vision in her left eye, and doctors informed her she has a detached retina that will require emergency surgery within the next few days. The surgery itself won't be difficult but the recovery will.

Because she has been freelancing for the past two years, she doesn't have paid time off or disability coverage. We want to make sure her basic needs are met throughout this process so that she can heal without the stress of worrying about bills and out-of-pocket medical expenses. She will have to have two more surgeries down the road and a lengthy recovery period. Please give what you can to help my friend in her time of need.
