Help Monte and Mary Replace Sawmill After Wildfire
Donation protected
I’d like you to meet Monte and Mary Gilles. They are a father-daughter team that suffered an incredible loss due to the Texas Ridge wildfire in Kendrick, Idaho a week ago. Monte and Mary lost everything. And when I say everything, I mean literally their entire livelihood and manner of employment. In this fire, they lost their blacksmith shop, a sawmill, and a few tools that supported their entire operation, not to mention their off-grid log cabin that they’ve called home since 1988, which Monte had built with his bare hands.
Monte and Mary are our neighbors and have been staying with my family while they attempt to clean up and salvage pieces of their lives. They are working on the repair of their solar water pump as a priority. But soon after, they will need to begin rebuilding. I’m starting this GoFundMe to ask for assistance with replacing the sawmill that sustained them. A replacement will ensure they can rebuild by sourcing wood from their property that is salvageable. They are so kind and giving and have offered to help others displaced in the fire locally if they can get a sawmill up and running. Would you help these two with getting back on their feet? I know they’d appreciate it.
