Help Morad Amar's Family in Gaza
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Morad Amar, I'm 29 years old, and I was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. I am of Palestinian descent, and both my parents hail from Gaza. Currently, my entire Dad's side of the family resides in Gaza, where they have been enduring immeasurable suffering, including the loss of 7 children (one of whom had special needs), 2 adult women, and 1 adult male as of 3/24/2024. All of these individuals were civilians, and their photos are included in this post (see photos below).
Since the siege and genocide on Gaza began, they have faced starvation, displacement, death, and endless indiscriminate bombing. I am reaching out for donations to alleviate their suffering. I will be using Western Union, an American multinational financial services corporation, to send money directly to my family.
For transparency, all donors who provide their contact information (please include it with your donation as a comment) will receive picture/video proof that their donation was used for its intended purposes.
Below is a breakdown of how the funds will be utilized (keep in mind prices are currently extraordinary high due to scarcity):
- Food and water
- Building tents for shelter
- Clothing
- Wood for heating the shelters at night (due to the lack of electricity)
- Personal care products: feminine hygiene products (women currently resort to using bits of tent scraps as makeshift tampons), toothbrushes, soap, basic medicines, and internet cards for communication.
- If sufficient funds are raised, once a permanent ceasefire is achieved, the remaining funds will be allocated to rebuilding the homes that have been destroyed.
The specific individuals responsible for receiving and distributing the funds to the rest of the family are as follows: Belal Amar (my cousin, 33 years old, father of 2), and Khalil Amar (my uncle, a father of 3, and 3 other children that were murdered by an Israeli air strike in the War on Gaza in 2014). Pictures of these men and a little bit about their story can be seen in the picture section below.
Additionally, provided below is a firsthand account by my cousin, Belal Amar (son of my late aunt Fathiha Amar, who was murdered), detailing the tragic events that befell our family:
"On Monday, January 23, 2024, at 2:00 AM, Israeli forces advanced with tanks into the Khan Yunis city in the Mawasi area, specifically targeting civilian citizens. The army urged evacuation to this area, claiming it was safe and free of combat.
During that night, an Israeli tank advanced without warning onto a small agricultural land where a room housed 10 displaced people. The tank bulldozed the room with its occupants inside, killing them all. Eyewitnesses confirmed that before the bulldozing, there were sounds and cries of children and women pleading to leave. Despite their pleas, they were all murdered in this heinous crime against innocent civilians.
The victims include:
Mohammed Abdul Haleem Ammar, 42 years old,
Majdoleen Naif Ammar, 38 years old (his wife),
Their children: Malak Mohammed Ammar, 17 years old,
Osama Mohammed Ammar, 14 years old,
Sara Mohammed Ammar, 16 years old,
Aya Mohammed Ammar, 9 years old,
Rafeef Mohammed Ammar, 7 years old,
Anas Mohammed Ammar, 2 years old,
Fathia Al-Abd Ammar, 67 years old (Mohammed Ammar's mother),
And Khalid Abdul Haleem Ammar, who was disabled (Mohammed Ammar's brother).
To date, their bodies have not been buried. They lie in the pile of rubble (see below picture) where they were murdered, without mercy or humanity.
Above photo is what's left of the home that was bulldozed with the above 10 family members in it, their bodies are presumed to be underneath the rubble.
Khalil Amar and his daughter (Eman) outside one the tent they were displaced to.
Khalil and 2 of his 3 children (Ibrahim and Eman). Worth noting, Khalil had 3 of his children murdered by an Israeli air strike in 2014.
In the above video, you can see my family gathering around a small fire trying to keep warm. That "buzzing" sound in the background are Israeli military drones. You can imagine the psychological toll having to listen to this sound 24/7 has on civilians in Gaza. This buzzing (along with the constant sound of bombs being dropped and fear that you'll be the next victim) makes it impossible to get a good nights sleep.
