Help Morey Amsterduck's Leg Surgery

Our disabled Pekin, Morey, needs one of his legs (if not both) amputated. Please note: Although the goal is lower, the vet bill is actually $2,000-$3,000. So I'm slowly raising the goal.

Here's the backstory:

We've been taking in disabled birds over the last couple years (started calling it Sparklegleam Farm and Animal Rescue), but the vet bills to care for them properly are very costly.

We have Dick Van Duck (DVD), an Indian runner with luxated knees. So he can't walk, though he can swim.

We used to have Mary Tyler Molt (MTM), a Cayuga duck who was blind in one eye. But she had chronic egg binding issues and sadly passed away in February.

And in April, I drove an 11-hour round-trip to get Morey Amsterduck, a Pekin with disabled legs. Pekins are known to have leg problems because they're bred to grow fast, and sometimes their legs can't keep up with their bodies.

But Morey's legs have gotten sores and swollen. And unfortunately, one leg is unsalvageable and will need to be amputated now, since previous treatments didn't work. They may need to amputate both though.

The cost for surgery and treatment will be at least $2,000-$3,000. I only put $500 in for this fundraiser to make it hopefully a little more attainable.

I'd also like to look into getting a prosthetic leg(s) if it would work for him, or something to help him swim/float.

Although they aren't very mobile, DVD and Morey are happy together, along with our disabled chicken, Hurgy. They eat and chat and hang out in the grass and swim with supervision.

We'd like to keep being able to care for animals like them, but it's getting difficult with all of the vet bills, and we're running out of funds. So we'd really appreciate anyone who can offer support!
