Help Morris Watkins with Medical Expenses

After years of always doing for others before ever doing for himself, our beloved friend Morris Dean Watkins needs our help!

In the early morning hours of July 18, 2023, Morris was driving along the highway in his backhoe tractor beginning a day of work on his farm. A large truck, not realizing how slowly the tractor was moving, struck him from behind, throwing him from the tractor into the trench along the highway. He sustained numerous severe injuries in the crash, the most grave of which was to his leg. Thankfully, people at the scene were trained in first aid and able to come to his quick rescue. He was able to stifle his bleeding and keep him alive until first responders arrived. Morris was airlifted to The Med in Memphis, TN, after which he was stabilized and underwent the first of several surgeries to come. Tragically, they were unable to save his leg. Now, he faces several more surgeries and a very long road to recovery.

Those who know Morris know that he has spent his entire life farming, and would continue to do so as long as his body would allow. However, because of his injuries, he will not be able to work again for quite some time — putting an immediate halt to his only source of income.

To know Morris is to love him. There is no kinder, warmer, or more loving a person around! Any person can call for his help in an instant, and he will drop whatever he is doing without hesitation to come to their aid — truly the “give you the shirt off his back” kind of person! There is nothing he wouldn’t do for someone in need. It is now our turn to return the favor and come together and help out our dear friend! There will be a great deal of medical and living expenses that are sure to accumulate as Morris recovers. Whatever anyone can contribute to go toward that will help so much. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Watkins family.
