Help Mo's Family to Flee from Gaza
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ayelen, and I live in London, UK. I have a friend, Muhammed, or Mo, whose family is trapped in Gaza and he has shared their experience under the ongoing bombardment and genocide.
First of all, Muhammed is a beautiful human being, a brilliant Nursing student at the Al-Azhar University and a talented football player. Muhammed and his family lived in Al-Nasr village their whole lives. Ever since their neighbourhood was bombarded by Israeli forces they fled for shelter to Deir al-Balah taking refuge in nearby schools and hospitals in order to try to stay in safe areas. Most of their friends and neighbours have been killed, there are bodies scattered everywhere on what once was their familiar streets and social places, food is scarce to the point of spending days without eating and his nephew and niece crying of hunger. In face of such despair his dad, mom, brother and 8 months pregnant wife, along their young children, risked walking a 5 hours walk from Deir al-Balah towards Rafah with hope of crossing to Egypt but with no luck they were forced to return despite the increase on bombardments in the region.
They lost all of their belongings including most of their money, clothes, home, car not to say memories, friends and sense of safety. They were all left with nothing besides what they were wearing and a few backpacks could hold. Many times when Gaza faces Internet outrage Muhammed looses all contact with his family for days which only increases his sense of concern and agony to help his family to reach safety.
As many families in Gaza, the decisions being made are dire, moved by will of survival, to leave Gaza towards the unknown is not an easy decision once chances of ever returning home are uncertain but the possibility of crossing the borders away from the imminence of death wether by bombardments, snipers' bullets, or famine signifies hope and life.
On a previous crowdfunding we managed to help Muhammed to go through Rafah border and reach his brother in Egypt. Now they want more than anything to reunite the rest of the family into safety. But as the demand for safe passage into Egypt increases, the cost for crossing the borders has also increased to around $7000 for each family member.
The money we are raising is to cover border costs for the 7 family members plus some money for food and shelter once they reach Egypt until their further steps.
Above all, any help would be a life saving contribution to Muhammed's family in such terrific circumstances they are faced with and our hearts will be forever thankful for any help given towards this cause.
A few words from Mo:
“Hello, my name is Muhammad. I lived in Gaza, in Al-Nasr all my life, then the war came and my whole life changed, and we were displaced to the south to Deir Al-Balah. I was lucky because I was able to escape from Gaza thanks to the help of friends, but my father, my mother, my brother, Aid, his pregnant wife, Alaa and their young children, Ayed and Hassan are still trapped between bombs and famine. They are dying every morning and evening, and my biggest dream is to be safe near them. And now in Egypt, I wish to bring them here with me, and travel costs are expensive, and my friend Ayelen always helps me and stands by my side."
With wishes of hope and solidarity.
