Help Motica in her Chiari Malfunction Survival

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Motica Brown. I am a 38 mother of three wonderful sons. I was recently diagnosed with Chiari Malformation Type 1 also known as brain sagging. I was at work in April when one my patients noticed that I was having signs of a stroke. I could not focus which turned into me not being able to see, speak, or move my body but I could hear everything. I was rushed to the ER where I was diagnosed with Chiari. I had to have brain surgery not even a week later because of the severity of my condition . What was only supposed to be a few days hospital stay turned into a month between the hospital and rehab. I had to relearn how to walk and write because I loss all strength in my motor skills. Even now in my recovery journey I still lose function of all those things including my speech. I am currently in month three of my recovery and I am having to have a second surgery. I have what is called a syringomyelia (syrinx) which was the main reason for the first surgey. A syrinx is like a bubble blockage of spinal fluid that keeps the spinal fluid from properly functioning. This is the cause of the paralysis in my motor skills and loss of speech. It has now enlarge and my spine is swollen. Most days I walk with a limp and if I try to cook and go to the bathroom without resting in between, I loose function of my entire body and my speech. I have been unable to return to work. I have been a CNA since 2008 and I love my job but now I am no longer able to work because it requires heavy lifting. I was also working as a patient service rep in a radiology center but unfortunately I was not there long enough to receive short term disability and my Americans with Disability waiver has run out, leaving me without medical insurance. Yes, I was working two full time jobs in the medical field while trying to be an active parent. I was just awarded state insurance but my current neurosurgeon does not accept Medicaid. I have tried to find a neurosurgeon that will accept my insurance but none will treat me. They are not willing or able to go behind another surgeon for more than a year. I will have to pay my current surgeon out of pocket. I have nothing. I lost my apartment due to being unable to work and I have had to send my children to live with family because I am unable to care for them. Everyday is a struggle just to stay out of depression not knowing what our future is going to look like. Honestly, being on this platform having to ask for help scares me. I have always been taught to be a blessing to others and that is what makes life rewarding. Now here I am asking for others to be a blessing to me. I can only fight for my future and hopefully continue to be advocate for others who need the assistance of others just for daily survival and basic needs. I would be more than eternally greatful for anything that you be willing to donate.
Thanking you in advance!
