My name is Kate and I am managing this campaign with Mounis, a 28-year-old man from Gaza. Our goal is to raise funds to help Mounis and his family escape the dire conditions they are facing and start a new life abroad in safety and peace. I am located in the USA, and I will be sending all the funds we raise directly to Mounis, who is in constant contact with me via WhatsApp and Instagram. I will share updates about their situation as often as possible.

Who is Mounis?

My name is Mounis Al-Shaqra, I am 28 years old, and I live in Gaza with my parents, my siblings, and their families. I am the sole provider for my family, which consists of 13 people. Despite the difficult circumstances we face in Gaza, I have always dreamed of expanding my work as a painter and interior decorator. Unfortunately, the current situation in Gaza makes it impossible to pursue this dream.

About My Family

My family means everything to me. Here is a brief introduction to each member:

My Father, Mohammed Samir Al-Shaqra (74 years old): He suffers from chronic health issues, including high blood pressure, chest pain, and complications from recent hip replacement surgery.

My Mother, Wafa' Safi (58 years old): She is the backbone of our family, doing her best to care for everyone despite her age and health struggles.

My Brother, Mahmoud (26 years old): He lives with us and is not married.

My Sister, Mennah Allah (16 years old): She is studying for her high school exams.

My Older Brother, Ahmed (32 years old): He is married to Rawan, and they have six children: Reema, Tala, Soso, Ayham, and Mira. They all live with us. These children are enduring extremely difficult circumstances, especially with the cold winter approaching.

Our home has been destroyed by the ongoing conflict, and there is no protection from the rain or the cold. Life has become harder with rising prices and limited resources. My father requires continuous care, and we urgently need to move to a safe place.

Why We Need Your Help

The situation in Gaza has become unbearable. We have no stable income, and we rely on canned food and what little we can find in the markets, where prices are skyrocketing. We live in constant fear of the winter, where the cold and rain make it impossible to stay warm. Our only hope for survival is to leave Gaza and find safety elsewhere.

The cost of travel for each person is $5,000, and with 13 members in our family, we need to raise $65,000 to cover the travel expenses for everyone. This will allow us to escape the dangers of Gaza and start a new life in a safe place.
