Help Mr. Cole get back to a 10

Donation protected
Hi friends and family,

I’ve taken it upon myself to start a gofundme for my partner Jeremy and our dog Mr. Cole. Mr. Cole has no pre-existing conditions, not even an ear infection in his 7 years of life. His luck changed for the worst 2 weeks ago when he became very swollen under his neck and we thought it was due to an abscess that had formed from a recent scuffle with our kitty Colton. After rushing him to Cheval Animal Hospital we took him home on antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. One week later his skin was sloughing under his neck and chest area where he had been swollen. Dr. Riley, Dr. Dutton and the whole Cheval family have been doing everything in their power to find out what caused this much damage to his skin in such a short amount of time. Results have come back and histopath ruled out cancer and the culture came back with 2 bacterial organisms that are both sensitive to the antibiotic he is currently on. Overall good news but now we have to deal with the damage that has already been done to his skin with the “profound” amount of tissue exposed. Jeremy would spend his last penny before ever asking for help from anyone so I have taken it upon myself to start a gofundme privately for Mr. Cole. It really hit me how much I loved this dog when Dr. Riley spoke the words “Euthanasia is on the table because of how involved this is” That came as a huge shock and we have not entertained that subject since. He is a completely healthy dog other than this crazy mishap with a cat/snake/spider and he has many happy doggie years ahead of him. He is not in pain and is his happy-go-lucky self. He doesn’t even mind the cone although it makes it harder to catch lizards. He is a 10, has a heart of gold and we would do anything for him. Your contribution would go toward the twice-weekly bandage changes for the next couple of months that have to be done under sedation each time, as well as the specialty surgery in a couple of months with Dr. Burns to bring the skin back together. Pets are part of the family and no one can convince me otherwise. It takes a village, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your contribution in advance.

One week after antibiotics and anti inflammatories this is his skin sloughing :/
