Help Save Mr. Mistoffelees – My Special Needs Kitty
Hello everyone, my name is Kimberly Davison. I never thought I’d have to make a GoFundMe, but this is my last resort. I’m 29 years old, disabled, and a full-time university student. I can’t have children, so my cats are my world.
Recently, I moved from Florida to Massachusetts to live with my Fiancé, and it has put us in a tough financial spot. Between everyday expenses and unexpected vet bills, we’re struggling to keep up.
But this isn’t about me—it’s about my beloved cat, Mr. Mistoffelees.
Mr. Mistoffelees is my 10-year-old diabetic kitty with special needs. For years, I managed his condition with a prescription diet, and he was doing well. But after we moved, something changed. He began scratching and licking excessively, to the point of wounding himself.
I took him to the vet as soon as his condition worsened. They suspected a flea allergy (despite no evidence of fleas), gave him an antibiotic shot, and sent us home—charging $631 for the visit. I treated our home as a precaution, but his condition only deteriorated.
On March 13th, I rushed him to an after-hours urgent care vet because his wounds had become severely infected. He was in pain, barely eating or drinking, and I couldn’t stand by and do nothing. The vet confirmed the infection is severe and difficult to treat. He will need biweekly vet visits, antibiotics, and pain management just to have a chance at healing. If he doesn’t improve, I’ll have to face an unbearable decision about his quality of life.
The vet encouraged me not to give up hope, but this is going to be an expensive and ongoing battle.
Mr. Mistoffelees has been my rock—he was there when I lost my mother, when I underwent brain surgery, and through every hardship in my life. I have to fight for him the way he has always been there for me.
I’m begging for any help you can give, whether it’s donating or sharing this with others. Every bit of support means the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
