Help Mr. Rubin

Hello, my name is Jennifer Peacock and my friend/neighbor Stephen was hit by a car while riding his bicycle to work early morning on 12/12/23. I met Mr. Rubin in 2021 when we moved into our apartment in Baltimore City. He lives directly above us with his cat, Oreo. Mr. Rubin is in his mid 60s and is such a kind soul. He’s never missed a day of work his whole life. When I first met him he drove a motorized scooter but the engine stopped working so he started taking the bus again. He saved up some money and purchased an electric bicycle and within 2 months that stopped working also. Both times I have offered to help him but he’s a stubborn independent person and while we were away on vacation he spent his savings to buy a bicycle!!! We came home late Tuesday night to the police banging on our house. Stephen didn’t show up to work and his boss called for a wellness check. If you know Stephen you know his routine. If he isn’t home he’s at work or church. We thought he was dead inside but we later found out he was hit by a car riding his bicycle to work. He doesn’t have friends or family here so I went to see him in the hospital(had to fight my way in). His ankle, wrist and collar bone are all broken and it looks like he may have been run over. He does not make much money at all and used his savings to purchase these means of transportation. He has a strong stutter when speaking and he has told me he’ll never make a lot of money with this disability. I’ve told him that’s not true but that’s besides the point. He will have to be out of work for at least 3 months while his body heals. I don’t want him to worry about rent, bills, Oreo, transportation, etc. he sticks to himself and never asks for help. So..I’m asking for him!! If you could help me help Mr. Rubin get his bills paid and buy a new bike I know he would be forever grateful. If you read this whole thing we than you! Please share if you have a moment. ❤️
