Help Mr. (Steve) Walls battle cancer
Donation protected
Hello, My father, Steve Walls, has Large B Cell lymphoma. He was treated with chemotherapy and radiation in the spring and the cancer was gone. Just a few months later the cancer returned with a vengeance. He is currently in a FDA approved trial called CAR T transfusion therapy. Complications are to be expected. He was supposed to be in the hospital for a week. He is now on week 3. My parents had to rent an Airbnb for the month to be within a certain travel distance to Stanford hospital. To deal with possible side effects which he is currently experiencing. Mostly neurological. The Airbnb cost them $7200 for the month. His health insurance has been great so far with minimal costs out of pocket. Until now. When he leaves the hospital he will need to be on a medication, that after insurance, will cost him $1200 a month. Hopefully he will only need it for 2 months. I am optimistic that he will recover. But only time will tell. My wonderful sister Heather, took an unpaid month off of work to help out. Left her family at home to help her father whatever way she could. The funds will first go to my parents to recoup their costs. Anything beyond their costs will be given to Heather for her financial sacrifice. Thank you for your time in reading this. I hope all is well with everyone that views this post.
