Help Mrs. Fayssoux Fight Pancreatic Cancer!

Mrs. Patty Fayssoux is the beloved Chorus teacher at Cramerton Middle School in Gaston County, North Carolina who is now gearing up for, literally, the fight of her life against stage 4 metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Initially thinking that her recent stomach issues were caused by an old ulcer aggravated by stress, she made an appointment with her doctor. Several days later the probable diagnosis, and now confirmed diagnosis, was that she had stage 4 metastatic pancreatic cancer. This news came as a complete shock to her, her family, and her friends. How could someone as vibrant, positive, and full of life be afflicted with such an awful diagnosis?
Voted teacher of the year in 2004, Mrs. Fayssoux is exuberant and has a passion for teaching music that even the most talented and gifted educators wish they could possess! Patty has taught music and chorus for over 37 years. She most recently has been teaching Music and Chorus at Cramerton Middle School for the last 22 years, where her students have won numerous accolades and awards. When not in the classroom, Mrs. Fayssoux also volunteers her time at her church, Myers Memorial UMC, and leads the adult handbell choir.
Outside of teaching, Mrs. Fayssoux, or Patty as she is known to friends, is the mother to three wonderful children, Lee, Lauren, and Lane Fayssoux, and has been married to her loving and devoted husband, John, for 48 years. And, while she may go by many different names to many different people, her most favorite is that of her grandchildren (Jackson and Luke Fayssoux) who affectionately named her “Cuckoo” after the Cuckoo clock in her house.
Currently, Patty is in Houston waiting to receive treatment from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. While she would rather be home with her friends and family, Patty decided this is the place she wants to be while she fights her battle against this very ferocious and terrible disease. MD Anderson is one of the leading pancreatic cancer treatment centers in the United States. They are the leading pioneers in their approach to treating pancreatic cancer with radiation, and they have a comprehensive overview of all clinical trials for both metastatic and localized pancreatic cancer. We know she will be in the best hands.
When asked what people can do to help, all Patty will say is “I only want positive vibes and prayers. This is in God’s hands.” In addition to positive vibes and prayers, Patty and her family can be helped by donating gift cards and/or by contributing to her “Go Fund Me Page”. While Patty’s prognosis is undetermined, we do know there will be numerous expenses that insurance will not fully cover, such as medical apartments where she is being treated, flights, and general costs of living where she will be receiving treatment.
Patty has given so much to her family, friends, students, and community without thought to herself or never asking for anything in return. A monetary donation is a very small way to thank Patty for everything she has given us and to let her know she will not fight Pancreatic Cancer alone! With Patty’s feisty spirit, and with our prayers and positive vibes we can show cancer that it has chosen the wrong person to pick a fight with!
