Help Mrs. Smolarek Through Her Toughest Fight

To the Ogden community and beyond,

One of our beloved teachers, Mrs. Smolarek, is taking an unexpected, unpaid leave of absence for the remainder of the '24-'25 school year. She has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer and will be undergoing months of treatment beginning with chemotherapy, followed by surgery and radiation.

The miscellaneous costs that accompany long-term illnesses are many (medical bills, out-of-pocket costs for medications, transportation, loss of income, to name a few). Also, due to severe allergies in the Smolarek home, they are not able to receive support in many of the typical forms, such as meal trains. In lieu of meals or gifts, this GoFundMe is being coordinated.

Let's help her and her family so she can focus on her treatment and her recovery.
