Help for Above knee Amputation rehab and medical bills

Greetings family and friends and the public at large.

This is Grace, Aneta and Tasila, we write to bring to your attention the circumstances we find ourselves in.

Our mother Mrs. Judith Tembo came to visit us in Australia from Zambia in December 2023.

Mum was due to return home in July 2024. However, on the 8th of July 2024, she presented at Shoalhaven, hospital

in Nowra NSW where she got admitted due to severe pain she was experiencing in her left lower leg.

Unfortunately, after further investigations she was found with a clot in her lower leg which had totally blocked the blood supply to other parts of the body. Since this was discovered too late to save the leg, she had to undergo urgent surgery where she got her left lower leg amputated above the knee.

Due to these unforeseen circumstances, we are faced with a huge medical bill amounting to 60, 000Australian dollars for both pre and post-surgery including the hospital stay, treatment and rehabilitation equipments. Regrettably, the travel insurance we had arranged before her travel could unfortunately not cover any of this.

We, therefore, wish to appeal for your support to help assist clear mum’s bills which, has gone beyond our financial capacity.

Mum is in high spirits and on the amend. Your help will highly be appreciated.
