Help Ms. Mitsuse: Beloved Teacher's Home Lost in Eaton Fire

My name is Wil Page, and I am a teacher at Thomas Starr King Environmental STEAM Magnet in Los Angeles. I'm creating this fundraiser for my cherished colleague and partner teacher, Rebecca Mitsuse, who lost nearly everything in the recent Eaton Fire that has devastated the Altadena community.

Rebecca is an extraordinary sixth-grade English and Science teacher who has dedicated her career to educating and inspiring generations of Los Angeles students. As a passionate environmental advocate, she has not only taught our children about the importance of protecting our planet but has also empowered them to become active stewards of their environment.

On January 7, 2025, the Eaton Fire destroyed Rebecca's Altadena home on Maiden Lane, leaving her, her husband, and their high school junior with almost nothing. In mere hours, this devastating fire consumed their belongings, memories, and the sanctuary they called home. The impact of this loss is immeasurable, affecting not only their immediate living situation but also their ability to maintain normalcy in their daily lives, especially for their teenage child who is in a crucial year of high school.

Rebecca has always been there for her students and colleagues, going above and beyond to support our school community. Now, it's our turn to support her and her family during this incredibly challenging time. Your donation, no matter the size, will help them:
