Help MSU Activists Fight Misdemeanor Charges
Donation protected
On Friday October 25th, five Michigan State University students were arrested for trespassing at the Hannah Administration Building. These students are part of the Hurriya Coalition, a group of 20+ MSU community organizations advocating for Palestine and demanding University divestment from Israel and weapon manufacturers. The students were arrested during a sit-in protesting University investments.
Presently, the students face misdemeanor charges, 30 days in jail, and $250 each in fines. The students were engaged in an act of civil disobedience which is a crucial aspect of American democracy and an important component of many social justice movements. The intent of the action was entirely peaceful and nonviolent: they were arrested while linking arms and singing.
Any funds contributed to this cause will be used to support the students as they navigate the legal processes they now face.
