Help Muggsy Parker Schow Breathe Easy Again

You all know our pup Muggsy Parker Schow and love him as much as we do.

For nearly three years now he has dealt with a chronic cough and lung infection ― the sort of thing some veterinarians might too quickly shrug off as “chihuahua issues,” the most repeated ones being “enlarged heart” or “collapsed trachea.”

We wanted second opinions, then thirds. We wanted to be definitive. We wanted him to have the absolute best care available ― which means multiple X-rays and very expensive tests.

Turns out he doesn't have an enlarged heart or a collapsed trachea. But we had to find that out from an actual dog cardiologist, and:

Radiographs with interpretations = $500+.

A basic echocardiogram = $1000+.

Attendant expenses, meds, cultures + analysis, diagnostics, hospitalization and tests run it up = $2000+.

Bronchoscopy under anesthesia + catheter = $5000+.

And so on. Muggsy had a camera in his lungs on February 6th. His internal medicine doctor has diagnosed him with Dynamic Principal Bronchus Collapse, which the new regimen of meds will help significantly.

We're not going to stop, because Muggsy.

We realize this is probably the absolute WORST time to mount a fundraiser. But it's for Muggsy.

ANY amount, small or large, can help with prescriptions, doc appointments and all the dozens of fees that can accrue, even given the godsend of pet insurance. Our fellow pet people already know how costs can mount.

We decided to do this fundraiser when the bills hit the $10,000 mark.

But $5 is just as appreciated, both by us and certainly by our extremely photogenic pup, who you'll be hearing from, we promise.
