Muhammads words
Hello, my name is Muhammad Munir. I’m a Palestinian from Gaza City.
I am the father to two wonderful children and a devoted husband to my wife, Rawa. I lived with my family in the Zaytoun neighborhood in a modest house, where life was simple and full of happiness.
Our days began with the sounds of morning birds and the kind greetings of neighbours. My children, Mounir, 6 years old & Siraj, 4 years old, used to go to school with joy and happiness.
But on October 7th 2023, our lives changed radically. Our home was destroyed by the Israeli occupation forcing us to flee and find a safe place for my family. I also lost my job as a tailor and I am no longer able to provide anything for my family.
We are now living in very harsh conditions and life has become extremely challenging especially for my young children who had to face this ordeal.
My wife Rewaa was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer prior to the assault on Gaza and has been left untreated since.
She is now in critical condition as her treatment was abruptly put to a halt for the last 6 months.
That’s why we are pleading to you as a matter of urgency to help us evacuate so that my wife “Rawa” can receive the cancer treatment she desperately needs.
We live in a tent in the city of Rafah, south of Gaza - we suffer from very difficult conditions. My children and I suffer from diseases due to the contaminated water and food.
We now dream of a normal and safe life for our children, away from violence and destruction. We need your help to start over and build a better future for the family.
It was never an easy decision to make to leave Gaza. And to have no choice but to ask for your help in order to make that happen. And I want you to know that we do not have the luxury of choosing.
This is the reason why we are making this plea to you all and we ask for your help to evacuate my family as a matter of urgency.
The funds we are hoping to raise are to be distributed as follows: ( bearing in mind, border fees continue to increase)
GBP 6000x 2 adults (Rafah border fees) = GBP 3000 x 2 children (being less than 16 years old)
GBP 1000 for the transportation fees
GBP 2,500 per month to cover the first 6 months of rent & living expenses (for a family of 4)= GBP 15,000 + moving in costs (roughly 2000) = 37000
Gofundme VAT deductions will be made Transaction fee of 2.9% + 25p is automatically deducted from each donation
Dear friends, I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share the story of a family from Gaza whom I've come to know closely. Their lives have been shattered by the recent conflict.
They've lost their home, their livelihood – and are struggling to provide even the most basic necessities for their children.
This GoFundMe campaign is not just about financial assistance; it's about restoring hope and dignity to this family.
Let’s help this family so that Rawa can recover and be the best healthy mummy she can be to beautiful Munir & Siraj .
Every donation no matter how small the size is very welcome and needed.
Your donations will go directly towards helping Muhammad’s family with the evacuation so that Rawa can receive cancer treatment abroad & towards rebuilding their lives again, allowing & them to have a fresh start and a better future.
In times like these, solidarity and compassion can make all the difference.
Please join me in offering a lifeline to this family. Your generosity will be a beacon of light in their darkest hour.
Let's come together to show them that they are not alone in this struggle.
Thank you for your support, kindness and compassion during these unprecedented times.
