Help my Aunt Elyce fight Lung Cancer and settle back home.

Hi, my name is Jackson, and I’m 17. I’m reaching out to ask for your support for my incredible aunty, Elyce. She is my mum's only sibling and a constant source of love and strength in our family. Recently, we received devastating news: Elyce has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of lung cancer, despite never having smoked a day in her life.

Elyce is currently in Sydney, preparing for major surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital, where doctors will remove at least half of her lung. After the surgery, she will need ongoing treatment back in Wagga Wagga. Our family is doing everything we can to support her, but the challenges are overwhelming.

The Urgent Need: Elyce, her husband, and their three wonderful kids (aged 7, 9, and 11), who are all on the autism spectrum, live in a small town called Bredbo. To provide her with the best possible care and support, they urgently need to relocate to Wagga Wagga, her hometown, where family and friends can help them through this difficult journey.

The costs of relocating and managing Elyce’s care are adding up quickly. She has already had to stop working due to her condition, leaving the family with a sudden loss of income. On top of that, they’ve already paid a significant amount in medical expenses, with more to come.

We want to make sure that Elyce has a comfortable, safe place to come home to after her surgery. Unfortunately, their current furniture is worn and unsuitable for her recovery. We’d like to provide her with a new lounge and dining set so she can rest properly during this time. An air purifier and other doctor-recommended aids will also be vital to help her breathe comfortably at home.

How You Can Help: We’ve started this GoFundMe to help Elyce and her family through this sudden and challenging transition. Your support will go directly towards:

Relocation costs to move back to Wagga Wagga, where Elyce can be surrounded by family

A new lounge and dining set to create a comfortable recovery space for Elyce

Medical aids, such as an air purifier, and any other equipment suggested by her doctors

Covering living expenses to ease the financial burden while she focuses on healing

A Message of Hope: Elyce is one of the kindest, most resilient people I know. Even now, as she faces this incredibly tough battle, she’s doing everything she can to keep her spirits up for her family. Her kids are also trying their best to stay strong, but this has been a big change for them as well. We want to make this journey just a little bit easier for all of them.

Every little bit helps, and any support you can provide would mean the world to us. Whether it's a donation, a share, or a kind word, you are giving Elyce and her family hope and comfort during a time when they need it the most. We are incredibly grateful for every act of kindness and generosity.

Thank you for being a part of Elyce’s fight and helping us make sure she has a safe and loving space to recover.
