911 Dispatcher with pancreatic cancer!
My best friend, Kristin, has recently been diagnosed with cancer. The treatment is going to be pretty aggressive and will require lots of time off as well as all the medical treatment. Even though she has insurance, it will still dent the pocket book and anything you can do will be greatly appreciated!!
Kristin has been a 911 dispatcher for almost 20 years. She is very dedicated to her job and loves her guys and gals that she dispatches for! She is married and has 3 grown kids as well as 3 grandchildren!

Hello all!!! First and foremost, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!!!!! I am just blown away by everybody's generosity and thoughts and prayers... I don't have a whole lot to update today, I had my port put in last week, and I will be starting chemo in 1 week. I found out that instead of only having to have treatment for 3 months, it will be 6 months of treatment (with a possible re-evaluation at 3 months). It was tough news to hear when I kind of had my heart sent on the 3 months. But that's okay...whatever it takes. I believe I was able to respond to everyone that donated with a thank you... although thank you really isn't enough to describe how grateful I am.

UPDATE**** 02/24/21
Hello everyone! This is Kristin....I just wanted to give an update and to say thank you to each and every one of you! As my best friend Melissa stated, I have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on Feb 9th. The last couple of weeks have been kind of crazy with Dr. appts and determining if the cancer has spread and what course to take. I had some CT scans this past Monday and on Tuesday I met with the surgeon to find out the results. As of right now, there is no evidence of spread and due to the fact the tumor is up against the main vein/artery, I will be starting chemotherapy as soon as I can to try and shrink the tumor so I can have surgery. I will have a port put in and do chemo for approximately 2-3 months. Then I will have approximately 1 month off of treatment and then have the surgery done. I have been told by the surgeon that the surgery is a tough one on the body, so I will need a lot of recovery time. I am beyond grateful for all of the prayers, positive thoughts and donations! Thank you!
