Steele still needs your help!

Hi friends - This is Steele's mom here.

For those of you who know me, you know It's killing me right now to ask for any help. But this is not about me, it's for my wonderful fluffy boy, who brings so much joy to everyone he meets. He is my child ♡

Steele came from CHAAMP, a wonderful rescue organization in Virginia. He came to be the perfect brother for his sister Kaya, and they have bonded and grown into a wonderful pair. They bring so much joy, not only to me, but my friends, family, and all the kids in my neighborhood. We can't go anywhere without Steele saying hi to everyone in his best Chewbacca voice and leaning against them for extra loving. He is my heart ♡

3 weeks ago, after a routine vet check up, it was discovered that my furry boy has heartworm. On top of that, things are complicated as he has some other issues too, but they are not as life threatening right now.....

He started his treatment right away, which consists of 4 weeks of antibiotics to kill the worm larvae, then a month break, and then big shots to kill the adult worms. This happens over a period of 4 months. It's been brutal so far too.

We are at day 16 of 28 days of the first month.

This pill treatment has reeked havoc with his body, and he has refused to eat. Because of that, his liver is dangerously unhealthy and he is too weak to endure more heartworm treatment. His life is in danger right now. And he is fighting!

Now, he has to spend a few overnights at a specialty clinic, with no guarantees.

Over $1200 on tests and pills alone so far. With more tests, ultrasounds, bloodwork, meds and IV's with 24 hour care, his bills will run over $5000, possibly as high as $10,000.

I am asking for those who love my boy, and those who love animals to help if you can.
