Help my brother Amir to get an emergency surgery

Hi, my name is Sanaz and I am Amir's sister. My brother got bit by a pitbull on the back of his right knee in which the dog took a huge chunk out of. (It looks like a shark bit tore into his leg). His leg has become infected and he is currently in the hospital in Brazil. He needs to get a graft done in order to safely put the skin back on his leg and to keep the infection out.

He is on a waitlist at the hospital to be seen by a government-paid surgeon. However, this could take weeks and there is no guarantee that they would do a good job.

The second option and what we are going for is to have a paid doctor take him soon to have the surgery done immediately so he can be home within a day or two. We, unfortunately, do not have the cash on hand and they are asking for $5000 upfront. The remaining $3000 is for my parents to go visit him for a couple of months and any expenses associated with being there until he recovers.

We truly, from the bottom of our hearts, would appreciate any help you can provide. This is an urgent matter, and we would usually not ask for this, but my brother's leg and health are at risk.
