Help my brother fight for his life and family

Hi my name is Ivan Rodriguez and I am writing on behalf of my brother Juan Carlos Rodriguez. After being hospitalized for nine nights (Dec. 27-Jan. 4) at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville and having difficulty breathing, one of his doctors recommended for him to go to the city of Houston, Texas and seek another medical opinion. On January 5, 2022, after a complex trip, he was admitted to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Emergency Room. Unfortunately, on January 6, 2022, his life was tremendously impacted as he was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer.

After several medical studies and procedures, his doctor notified him he needed to be treated immediately with immunotherapy. My brother is only 45 years old and has a beautiful wife named Norma and two lovely kids, Sebastian, 15 and Giovanni, 11. As of today, January 29th, Juan Carlos and Norma have been out of their home for thirty-three days as he is still fighting at MD Anderson.

These were unexpected news, and my brother and his family were not prepared for such a catastrophic event. Juan Carlos has remained positive and determined in the face of this diagnosis, but he has a long road ahead, physically, mentally and financially. As a result of such diagnosis, Juan Carlos and his wife Norma will incur significant medical expenses and loss of income as they fight together during these unprecedented times.

It is never easy to ask for help, but today I am reaching out to you on behalf of my brother. Although some of the medical expenses are covered by their insurance, most of his treatment costs are not covered. Additionally, their mortgage payment and other monthly expenses will not stop during this crisis. I humbly ask for your financial support as this assistance will relieve this burden and help him focus on healing and being there for his lovely family.

Anyone that knows Juan Carlos can testify of his devotion to his family and how he is always willing to help those in need. Today, he can’t provide for his family, but I firmly believe that a man reaps what he sows. He is a loving father, husband, son, brother and friend and deserves all the help he can receive. I am appealing to the hearts and kindness of all his family, friends and even those that have not been touched by him.
