Help my brother get mobility aids
Donation protected
Hi, I'm River and my younger brother, Dhiya, is at risk of losing his freedom to physically move. He’s disabled and suffers from a rare progressive joint condition that continues to severely impact his mobility (progressive pseudorheumatoid dysplasia).
He’s currently relying on a borrowed mobility scooter from his university, which has been a lifeline for him. However, he’s required to return it by 2nd Sep 2023. This leaves him with zero freedom to move independently, and essentially confines him to his room. And not having his family in the same country makes it harder for him to get the support he needs.
He has a foldable wheelchair, but his condition has deteriorated to the point where he can no longer wheel himself. He desperately needs new equipment (a rigid wheelchair and a compatible electric attachment) to navigate his daily life in confidence.
The total cost of both the wheelchair and electric attachment come up to £7000 including delivery, maintenance, etc. With the collective help of our friends, we’ve managed to raise £1500 of the £7000, but it is not enough.
He is in need of your very urgent support. If you’re able to donate, we will be grateful forever. Your contribution will make an immense difference. Every bit counts.
If you need more information, please feel free to send a message.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and your generosity,
River.
