Help My Brother's Family After Tragic Crash
Donation protected
This Tuesday morning, my brother was hit head-on by a vehicle driving the wrong way on the 405. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where we waited to see if he’d make it through the night. He’s now had two life-saving surgeries and is in critical but stable condition. His injuries are severe: fractured pelvis, broken and dislodge hip socket, crushed elbow, broken ribs and shoulder, bruised lungs, internal bleeding in brain and lungs, and bone fragments lodged throughout his body. The fact that he is alive—and fighting through—is a testament to his strength and resilience. In looking at pictures of his car, we are both amazed and grateful that he is still with us.
The road to recovery is going to be extremely long and grueling. As a dad of 5 and the main provider for his family, the financial strain is immense and a huge stressor on the family. We are asking for help during the next few weeks in particular to pay for medical bills and day-to-day expenses. We are doing our best to help with childcare, meals, etc., so that his wife can be by his side as they navigate the procedures, tests, and eventually (prayers please), rehabilitation. While we cannot take the emotional weight off his family, we are hoping to help make this one less thing to worry about for him, his wife, and most of all, his kids.
As many of you know, my brother is dedicated to his kids and family. He was hit at 4 in the morning on his way to work (he often worked early and extended hours with a 3 hour commute to and from home). But beyond just the financial, he showed up every day as a dad, husband and brother. While he still can’t yet speak, one of the first things he wrote and held up to his wife was “Kids???” His wife assured him that they are ok. That this will be ok. That despite being literally split into pieces, that family and friends would see him through.
Please please contribute what you can. We love you all and thank you for the outpouring of prayers and support. We will keep you updated via this page. Here is the accident coverage. This was just a dad on his way to work, like any other day. Love hard, life is incredibly fragile.
