Help My Cancer Surviving Grandma Get a New Car
Donation protected
In January of 2019 my loving grandma was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer, the seven months following her diagnosis my family and I would have never thought it would’ve been as difficult as it was and continues to be during chemo and radiation treatment, and all the downfalls cancer can bring to ones life. My grandmother has fought, she has pushed herself to limits I didn’t even know she had. She’s the one of the strongest women I know . On August 1st, 2019, my mother Erika got to celebrate her birthday with the news of her mother (my grandma) being cancer free. She has been in remission and cancer free for a year, but the recovery process has been longer. It wasn’t an easy fight but she fought with every once of faith she had. My grandma Linda is a wonderful grandma to eight grand kids 4 boys, and 4 girls! She recently had surgery to reverse the ileostomy that was given to her due to the cancer. This was supposed to be the final stage of kicking cancer in the butt. Little did we know it was the hardest part of cancer. Once the surgery was over she spent four days in the hospital and was released, she didn’t seem like her normal self so I took her back to the hospital and she was admitted again this time they said she had fluid near the surgery site and a small blockage. They began treatment, by placing a tube in her nose to her belly to relieve compression due to the fluid buildup, unfortunately that didn’t help but she was in no shape to go into a second surgery after just having the first. After Four weeks of the tube and being fed through IV, she was finally ready for the second surgery to relieve the blockage but that didn’t come as easy as it’s sounds she ended up with an infection. Finally after 50 days in the hospital, she was feeling better and ready to go home and be independent. She’s been out of the hospital for two weeks, & on Monday I stop by to visit with her and I noticed her car was not in her parking space, so I called the towing company to see if maybe it was towed but no luck. So we realized it was stolen. We made a police report with hopes that they would find it. Due to COVID-19 I was told that it is harder for police to respond to class 2 crimes such as auto theft, so we have very little to no hope with finding her car especially. With all due respect during these difficult times, my family and I appreciate all the help and donations we receive, to help my Ina get a car so she can go to her appointments!
