https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2020/10/08/fire-breaks-out-in-building-housing-belmont-snack-shop-in-avondale/ I first want to start of by saying Thank you to everyone who checked up on my family and I and had us in their prayers. I am so relieved that my family & the employee that worked in the Snack Shop when this tragedy happened are all okay. On Thursday around 7:00pm my family and I didn’t know that our lives was about to change, a grease fire broke out in the Snack shop and unfortunately my father & the Cook weren’t able to stop the fire before it spread. By the time the fire department came the fire already spread to the wooden walls to the second floor were my family and I use to reside. The fire department took about a Hour and half to stop the fire and by that time everything was destroyed, the restaurant and my childhood home. Belmont Snack Shop has been in my family for 2 generations and I have been eating their since a little girl and have lived above it since 2004. We were able to retrieve some sentimental value but not a lot everything else is destroyed. By wrapping this up I would like to start this page to show support to my family and my Dad’s business. I would like to raise as much money as possible, to help my family find a new place and to help my father with his small business. Anyone who use to eat at the Snack Shop or know about the tragedy please show support even a dollar donated means a lot Thank you everyone.
